Outdoor Learning

The children have access to outdoor areas, at all times in all weathers except when conditions are unsafe.

The children can work outside at all the time if they choose to, in our undercover area, or in our garden.  They have opportunities to run up and down small hills, climb trees, jump, role play in the mud kitchen. They can grow flowers, fruits and vegetables in the growing garden  and follow their cognitive learning needs in the outdoor classroom. This carefully prepared outdoor environment ensures they move as much as they need to meet their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

We ask that children bring in suitable clothing, including sun hats and sun cream in summer and warm, waterproof clothes for winter.

Forest School

The children have access to the forest school area at Stebbing Primary School.  We link our forest school sessions to enhance children’s learning experiences.

Children can experience the awe and wonder that nature offers us in a real woodland environment supported by qualified forest school leaders. With each visit to the forest school children will learn new skills linked to survival of man and caring for the natural environment

Children benefit from exploring in natures playground, reinforcing the knowledge they learn in the classroom.  This specialised learning approach enables children to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences. You will soon notice your child’s increasing confidence and willingness to explore new challenges.
